Winter in February
Winter's chill has come to stay, With icy winds that howl and sway, The world is cloaked in white so bright, A blanket of snow, a wondrous sight.
The trees are bare, their branches stark, Against the sky so grey and dark, But in the frosty air, they seem, A haunting beauty, like a dream.
The streets are silent, save the crunch, Of snow beneath our feet as we lunch, Our breath forms clouds with every breath, As we trek through winter's icy death.
But in the cold and wintry days, There's still a warmth that finds its ways, With cozy fires and steaming mugs, Of hot cocoa and warming hugs.
So though the winter winds may blow, And bring with them the ice and snow, There's still a magic in the air, That makes us love the winter fair.
